Performing Arts Fund NL
The Performing Arts Fund is a cultural fund for music, music theatre, dance and theatre in the Netherlands. On behalf of the Dutch government the Fund supports all kinds of professional performing arts. The Fund supports quality in the broadest sense, which appeals to and touches as many different people as possible. The Funds aims to speak the language of the makers, make connections on a conceptual level and be respected as a knowledgeable (conversation) partner.
At the same time the Fund wants to distinguish itself through its careful and transparent assessment and decision-making processes. The Fund annually distributes a budget of around € 60 million of public money.
Alongside four-year-long support agreements, the Fund offers programme grants and individual grants for composers and performance artists.
Special attention is being paid to internationalisation, cultural diversity and entrepreneurship among artists, companies and venues. The stimulation of innovation in the chain of creation, production, distribution and programming is one of the Fund’s special tasks.
Organisation
The Performing Arts Fund has over fifty employees. The Board of Directors consists of George Lawson and Henriëtte Post.
In addition, the Performing Arts Fund works with a pool of advisors of over hundred specialists. The members of an external selection committee advise the Board of Directors with regards to the selection of advisors.
The Performing Arts Fund has a Supervisory Board.
Publications
The Performing Arts Fund publishes research, evaluations and annual reports. Publications tend to be released in Dutch.
